Stunning photographs revealing the true beauty of Iceland and its unique natural landscape have been captured by a German photographer.
Hinrich Carstensen travelled to Iceland in March this year to witness and capture the diverse terrain of the country. His stunning photographs show off the Nordic island nation’s natural wonder; capturing the glistening ice, beautiful blue water and earthy rugged green landscape.
Other mesmerising images depict stunning wild horses, majestic hot springs and endless icy roads.
The 29-year-old explained that he specialises in landscape and travel photography, with documentaries being his favourite style.
He revealed that although he did not see the Northern Lights during his visit, he was still pleased with the photographs.
Carstensen said: ‘The scenery and waterfalls were breathtaking. I was only in Iceland for two weeks, I wanted to capture photos of the Northern Lights but unfortunately I did not see them.’
